Pvcocity Floor Sealer–5L

Pvcocity Floor Sealer – 5L is a durable floor-finishing coating developed to protect, enhance and refresh compatible hard flooring surfaces. It creates a neat protective layer that can improve the appearance of worn or faded floors while supporting easier routine maintenance.

The sealer can be applied to suitable indoor flooring surfaces, including compatible vinyl, Novilon and sealed wooden floors. It is ideal for customers who want to restore the appearance of an older floor or provide additional protection to a newly cleaned surface.

For the best result, the floor must be thoroughly stripped, cleaned, rinsed and allowed to dry before application. Pvcocity Floor Sealer should be applied in thin, even coats using a clean lambswool applicator, lint-free cloth or microfibre applicator.

Main benefits of Pvcocity Floor Sealer

Protects compatible floor surfaces

The sealer forms a protective coating over the prepared floor. This coating helps reduce direct exposure to everyday dirt, light scuffing and routine foot traffic.

Correct preparation and application are essential. The sealer should never be applied over dust, grease, old loose polish or cleaning-product residue.

Enhances the floor’s appearance

Older flooring can gradually appear dull or faded. Applying the sealer correctly can refresh the surface and give it a cleaner, more uniform finish.

The final appearance depends on the condition of the floor, the number of coats applied and how evenly the product is distributed.

Supports easier maintenance

A properly sealed surface may be easier to maintain than an unprotected or badly worn floor. Dust and everyday dirt can be removed through regular sweeping and appropriate damp cleaning.

Only cleaning products that are compatible with the sealer should be used after application.

Suitable for floor-restoration projects

Pvcocity Floor Sealer can be used as part of a restoration and maintenance process for compatible indoor floors. Old acrylic polish should first be removed, followed by thorough cleaning and rinsing.

The sealer cannot repair deep scratches, broken flooring, loose sections or serious surface damage. These issues should be corrected before sealing.

Suitable applications

Pvcocity Floor Sealer – 5L may be considered for compatible indoor floors in:

  • Offices
  • Retail spaces
  • Reception areas
  • Schools
  • Community facilities
  • Commercial rooms
  • Indoor passages
  • Selected residential areas
  • Showrooms
  • Light-traffic workspaces

The product should not be used on an unknown surface without first confirming compatibility.

Surface preparation

Good preparation is one of the most important parts of the sealing process. Applying the product over an improperly cleaned floor can cause an uneven finish, poor adhesion or premature coating failure.

Step 1: Inspect the floor

Check the surface for:

  • Loose flooring
  • Cracks or damage
  • Moisture
  • Oil and grease
  • Existing polish
  • Adhesive residue
  • Dust and debris
  • Deep scratches
  • Uneven areas

Repair any significant floor damage before beginning the cleaning and sealing process.

Step 2: Remove old floor polish

Remove existing acrylic floor polish using an appropriate floor stripper that is compatible with the flooring material.

Follow the stripper manufacturer’s application, dilution and safety instructions. Make sure all softened polish and residue are removed from the surface.

Do not apply the new sealer directly over flaking, contaminated or unknown coatings.

Step 3: Wash the floor

After stripping, wash the surface thoroughly using a compatible cleaning solution such as Pvcocity Floor Cleaner.

Pay close attention to corners, edges and areas where old polish or dirt may remain. The entire floor should have a consistent, clean appearance before sealing.

Step 4: Rinse thoroughly

Remove all cleaning product, stripper and detergent residue by rinsing the floor with clean water.

Residual chemicals may interfere with the sealer and cause cloudiness, poor adhesion or an uneven finish. More than one rinse may be necessary.

Step 5: Allow the surface to dry

The floor must be completely dry before the sealer is applied.

Do not seal over moisture or damp sections. Drying time will depend on ventilation, temperature, humidity and the flooring material.

Application instructions

Step 1: Prepare the equipment

Use a clean:

  • Lambswool applicator
  • Soft lint-free cloth
  • Microfibre applicator
  • Suitable clean container

Do not use dirty equipment or an applicator that contains residue from another chemical product.

Step 2: Apply the first coat

Apply Pvcocity Floor Sealer as supplied unless the product label states otherwise.

Spread a thin and even coat across the clean, dry surface. Work systematically from one side of the room towards the exit so that you do not walk over the wet coating.

Avoid:

  • Thick pools
  • Missed areas
  • Uneven application
  • Repeatedly working over partially dried product
  • Trapping dirt or fibres in the coating

Thin coats generally provide a more controlled and even finish than one heavy coat.

Step 3: Allow the coating to dry

Allow approximately 30 minutes for the coat to dry under suitable indoor conditions.

Temperature, airflow and humidity can affect drying time. Do not apply the next coat while the previous layer remains wet or tacky.

Step 4: Apply additional coats

A minimum of three thin coats is recommended.

Apply every coat evenly and allow sufficient drying time between applications. Additional coats should only be applied when the previous layer has dried properly.

Step 5: Protect the newly sealed floor

Keep people, furniture, equipment and dirt away from the freshly coated floor while it cures.

Do not wash the floor or expose it to heavy use during the initial curing period. Where possible, allow the sealer to cure undisturbed before returning the area to normal use.

Step 6: Buff after curing

The sealed surface may be buffed approximately 48 hours after application, provided that it has cured fully.

Use suitable floor-buffing equipment and avoid aggressive pads that could damage the new coating.

Coverage

The exact coverage of a 5L container depends on:

  • The porosity of the floor
  • The condition of the surface
  • The applicator used
  • The thickness of each coat
  • The number of coats applied
  • Product loss during application

Because these conditions differ between installations, the required quantity should be calculated after assessing the actual floor.

Important limitations

Pvcocity Floor Sealer is intended primarily for suitable indoor floor surfaces.

It is not recommended for outdoor areas exposed to direct sunlight. Strong sunlight, heat, moisture and weather exposure may affect the coating’s appearance, drying and long-term performance.

Do not apply the sealer:

  • To a wet floor
  • Over loose or flaking polish
  • Over grease or oil
  • On dusty or dirty surfaces
  • In direct outdoor sunlight
  • On an incompatible flooring material
  • Before completing a small compatibility test

The coating may not correct existing discolouration, deep damage or serious wear.

Cleaning and maintenance after sealing

Once the floor has cured, sweep or vacuum it regularly to remove loose dirt and grit.

For routine washing:

  1. Use a compatible mild floor-cleaning solution.
  2. Follow the recommended dilution instructions.
  3. Avoid soaking the floor.
  4. Remove excess water promptly.
  5. Do not use aggressive abrasives or unsuitable solvents.

Harsh chemicals can damage or dull the coating. Always test a new cleaning product in a small area before widespread use.

Safety guidance

Use the product only as directed on its container label and safety data sheet.

Wear suitable protective equipment during preparation and application. Keep the working area ventilated and prevent unauthorised people, children and pets from entering while the floor is wet.

Avoid contact with the eyes, skin and mouth. Do not eat or drink while handling the product.

In the event of accidental exposure, follow the instructions on the current product label and safety data sheet and obtain medical assistance when required. Do not rely on website content as a replacement for the official safety documentation supplied with the product.

Storage

Store the container:

  • Upright
  • Tightly closed
  • In a cool, dry place
  • Away from direct sunlight
  • Away from food
  • Out of reach of children
  • Away from incompatible chemicals

Do not use the product if the packaging is damaged or if its condition appears abnormal.
