Pvcocity PVC Adhesive Kit – 1L Hardener
The Pvcocity PVC Adhesive Kit is a two-part polyurethane adhesive system designed for securing compatible PVC flooring in areas where additional bonding strength is required. Each kit contains 6 litres of A660 adhesive and 1 litre of hardener, mixed at a ratio of 6:1. One complete kit covers approximately 10m², depending on the condition of the floor, the application method and the amount of adhesive applied. View this product together with our other PVC flooring Kit.
The adhesive is suitable for installations where loose-laid flooring may not provide enough stability, including busy commercial areas, spaces exposed to vehicle movement and selected outdoor or direct-sunlight applications.
Because this is a fast-curing two-part product, the installation area, flooring pieces and tools should be fully prepared before the adhesive and hardener are mixed.

Coverage is an estimate only. Rough, porous or uneven surfaces may use more adhesive and reduce the total area covered.
When should the PVC adhesive kit be used?
The Pvcocity PVC Adhesive Kit may be recommended when the flooring requires a stronger and more permanent bond to the base surface.
It is particularly useful in areas with:
- Heavy pedestrian traffic
- Trolleys or moving equipment
- Vehicle movement
- Frequent sideways pressure
- Outdoor exposure
- Direct sunlight
- Temperature changes
- Flooring that cannot be securely contained at the edges
The suitability of the base floor and installation environment should always be checked before application. Moisture, dust, oil or an uneven surface can reduce the strength and performance of the bond.
Important preparation before mixing
Do not mix the adhesive and hardener before the flooring layout has been measured, cut and checked.
Once the two components have been combined, the mixture has a limited working time. At approximately 25°C, the available application and installation period is generally around 25 to 30 minutes.
Higher temperatures may shorten the working time, while lower temperatures may affect curing. Prepare only the area that can be completed within the available time.
Before beginning, make sure you have:
- Protective gloves
- A clean mixing stick or suitable mixer
- A notched trowel or appropriate scraper
- Cleaning cloths
- All tiles measured and cut
- The installation area divided into manageable sections
- Adequate ventilation
- A clean and prepared base floor
Installation guide
Step 1: Prepare the floor
The base surface must be clean, dry, stable, firm and level.
Remove all:
- Dust
- Loose material
- Grease
- Oil
- Paint flakes
- Adhesive residue
- Moisture
- Dirt and debris
Any cracks, holes or uneven areas should be repaired before installation. The adhesive should not be used to correct an uneven base floor.
A poorly prepared surface may prevent the adhesive from bonding correctly, even when the product has been mixed according to the instructions.
Step 2: Complete a dry layout
Lay the PVC tiles or flooring pieces in their intended positions before mixing the adhesive.
Complete all measurements, edge cuts, corners and adjustments during this dry-layout stage. Check that the flooring fits correctly and that the installation pattern is aligned.
This preparation is important because the adhesive begins curing soon after the two components are mixed. There may not be enough time to measure and cut additional flooring once the adhesive has been spread.
Step 3: Divide the floor into sections
A complete kit covers approximately 10m². Mark out a manageable section that can be installed within the available 25-to-30-minute working period.
Do not remove all the flooring from a large room unless the entire area can be installed before the adhesive starts to cure.
Working in smaller, organised sections may reduce installation errors and help achieve a more consistent bond.
Step 4: Mix the adhesive and hardener
Combine the 6-litre adhesive component with the supplied 1-litre hardener at a 6:1 ratio.
Stir the mixture thoroughly until it has an even, consistent appearance. Scrape around the sides and bottom of the container so that both components are properly combined.
Incomplete mixing can affect the curing process and may result in areas that do not bond correctly.
The supplied components are intended to be mixed as one complete kit. Do not estimate smaller ratios unless accurate measuring equipment and suitable technical guidance are available.
Step 5: Remove the prepared flooring
Carefully lift the tiles from the marked section while keeping them in the correct installation order.
Stack or position them close to the work area so they can be returned quickly after the adhesive has been applied.
Do not mix up edge pieces, cut sections or tiles that have already been aligned for a specific position.
Step 6: Spread the adhesive
Use a suitable trowel or scraper to spread the adhesive evenly across the prepared section.
Avoid leaving thick pools, uncovered patches or uneven ridges. Consistent spreading helps the flooring make proper contact with the adhesive.
Based on the supplied installation guidance, allow approximately four to five minutes before placing the flooring. The exact waiting time may be affected by temperature, airflow and site conditions, so monitor the adhesive carefully and do not allow it to dry before the tiles are installed.
Step 7: Install the flooring promptly
Return the prepared flooring pieces to their correct positions while the adhesive remains workable.
Press each tile firmly into place and check that:
- The edges are aligned
- The surface is level
- No corners are lifting
- The flooring has made full contact with the adhesive
- Excessive adhesive has not pushed through the joins
Complete the selected section within approximately 25 to 30 minutes after mixing.
Do not continue installing over adhesive that has already cured or formed a dry surface. Adhesive that is no longer workable may fail to create a reliable bond.
Step 8: Keep the container covered
Keep the mixed adhesive container covered whenever possible while working.
Leaving the container open may expose the mixture to additional air and heat, which can shorten its working time. Open the container only when removing the amount needed for the next application section.
Covering the mixture will not stop the curing process, but it may help prevent unnecessary exposure while the product is being applied.
Step 9: Allow the adhesive to cure
Keep people, equipment and vehicles away from the newly installed flooring while the adhesive cures.
Do not wash the floor, drag equipment across it or subject it to heavy use until the bond has developed sufficiently.
Curing time can vary according to temperature, ventilation, floor condition and the amount of adhesive applied.
Safety precautions
The use of protective gloves is essential when handling the adhesive and hardener.
The product may be difficult to remove after it has cured. Avoid contact with:
- Skin
- Eyes
- Mouth
- Clothing
- Tools that are not intended for adhesive work
- Surrounding surfaces
Work in a well-ventilated area and follow the safety information supplied with the product.
When uncured adhesive comes into contact with a surface, wipe it away promptly using a suitable damp cloth, provided this is permitted by the product’s safety instructions. Do not wait for it to harden.
If the product comes into contact with the eyes or is swallowed, seek urgent medical guidance and refer to the product label or safety data information.
Keep the adhesive and hardener away from children, food, open flames and unauthorised users.
Cleaning tools and excess adhesive
Clean tools immediately after use and before the adhesive cures.
Once hardened, polyurethane adhesive can be extremely difficult to remove. Do not pour unused adhesive, hardener or mixed material into drains.
Dispose of containers and leftover material in accordance with the product instructions and applicable local waste requirements.
Installation limitations
Successful adhesion depends on factors beyond the adhesive itself, including:
- Surface preparation
- Moisture levels
- Mixing accuracy
- Temperature
- Application speed
- Adhesive thickness
- Condition of the base floor
- Compatibility of the flooring material
- Curing conditions
Always test compatibility before applying the adhesive across a large floor area.
The installer is responsible for confirming that the base surface, flooring and installation method are suitable for the intended application.
Recommended applications
The Pvcocity PVC Adhesive Kit may be used for compatible PVC flooring installations in areas such as:
- Workshops
- Garages
- Commercial spaces
- High-traffic walkways
- Factory work areas
- Retail environments
- Vehicle-access spaces
- Outdoor covered sections
- Areas exposed to direct sunlight
Outdoor installations require particular care because temperature changes, moisture and sunlight can affect both the flooring and the adhesive. The full installation environment should be assessed before work begins.
Product-use disclaimer
PVC Floor Tile (Pty) Ltd cannot accept responsibility for installation failure caused by incorrect mixing, poor surface preparation, unsuitable conditions, use after the working time has expired or failure to follow the supplied instructions.
The installer should verify all measurements, working conditions and product compatibility before mixing the adhesive.
For the best result, prepare the entire installation area before opening the kit, follow the 6:1 mixing ratio and complete each prepared section within the recommended working time.
